VHG DISCUSSION: WORLD CHANGERS – PART 1
SEEING THE WORLD AS GOD’S FIELD
- The Preface & The Correct View:
Summary:
God’s original mandate for humanity was global influence. A call to “replenish,” “subdue,” and
exercise “dominion” over the earth, for His glory and for our good. Though lost in Adam, it was
resumed in Abraham and fulfilled in Jesus. We’ve been called to be world-changers and agents of
transformation, and we must prepare and position ourselves for this responsibility.
Discussion Questions:- List ways that we can be intentional about seeing God’s global vision for His world?
- What practical steps can we take as believers to actively dispel the current darkness in the
world, while demonstrating Jesus in the hope of drawing people groups back to God?
- The Incorrect View:
Summary:
How we see ourselves will determine how others see us. Israel saw themselves as grasshoppers,
so they were viewed as such in the eyes of others. An incorrect view of who we are will hinder our
work of global influence and plunge us into global irrelevancy. This is known as “salt without any
savour.”
Discussion Questions:- In a world that constantly seeks to shape us, how can we prevent the wrong self-view?
- List and discuss some examples of how we can be irrelevant to this current world.
- The Final View:
Summary:
If we’re to effect global change, we must first see Christ as Lord over this world and we, the
followers of Christ, as His agents of change. Our global worship in sound and reach, coupled with
our transformative work, changes and affects every area of life for the glory of God!
Discussion Questions:- List some daily confessions that will instill the global Lordship of Jesus in our minds.
- What are some practical ways to couple our worship with our work for transformation in all
areas of life?
Prayer: Father, Give Us The Mind And The View Of World Changers, In Jesus Name
