DISCIPLESHIP CHANGES THE WORLD

1. Discipleship Establishes God’s Purpose:
   
   • Summary:
     The key to successful Christianity is and has always been effective discipleship. The practice of making genuine followers is what Jesus came to do, and this responsibility has been entrusted to those who continue His work. The body of Christ is stronger and far more effective when those who comprise it have been properly discipled.
   • Discussion Questions:
     • Discuss what it means to be “perfect in Christ,” and how this is attained.
     • Share and discuss some of the ways that we can measure Christian maturity.
2. Discipleship Eliminates Predators:
   • Summary:
     From the days of the first believers until this present time, false teachers, ungodly men and women, subtle and deceptive spirits working through people, have sought to infiltrate the church, seeking to prey upon the people of God. The antidote to their predation is discipleship. The mature in Christ are not easily deceived and will never be ignorant of the devil’s devices.
   • Discussion Questions:
     • List and discuss specific ways that we can expose predators within our gatherings.
     • What are some steps that one should take if they sense that they’re being preyed upon?
3. Discipleship Ensures Biblical Growth:
   • Summary:
     By God’s created order, healthy things will automatically grow. Discipleship is the means by which we ensure healthy believers, leading to organic growth in the church. Disciples will always reproduce “after their kind,” and good trees are always known by their fruits.
   • Discussion Questions:
     • Discuss how we can use discipleship to ensure the health of all in the ministry.
     • How can we measure that we’re duplicating others in the image of Christ?
